Bookkeeper

Main purpose of job: Responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the group, including accurate reporting and management of all areas of accounting, finance and credit control.

Expected hours: 27 per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of bank statements, petty cash, customer ledgers and supplier statements.
  • Managing company credit control processes and ensuring accounting is accurate in Sage Line 50
  • Management of all credit control functions for sales and purchase ledger
  • Processing supplier bank payments
  • Providing credit control planning and month end reports to the MD.
  • Processing sales invoices.
  • Processing VAT returns and payments

The ideal candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to actively listen and build rapport with a variety of customers.
  • Key focus to sales ledger terms
  • A solution-oriented, creative mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to be versatile to manage varied workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in speaking and writing in English, English as the first language is preferable.
  • Experience managing the accounting function for a small business.
  • Experience with Sage 50 is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and with a Team
