Junior Service Engineer
Purpose of the role: To install, service, troubleshoot and repair customer’s compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen or associated equipment as described for each job. Proactively being involved in our Engineering Team to deliver excellent standards of service to the customer. The role can be based at our Corby Or Nottingham offices dependent on the candidate. Mon-Fri 8-4:30, 42.5hrs a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair faults with compressed air equipment.
- Run diagnostic tests.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Assist on pipework and installation jobs according to drawings and instructions from colleagues on the service team.
The ideal candidate:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to actively listen and build rapport with a variety of customers.
- English and Maths GCSE passed at grade 4 or above.
- Driving license (no points) or the ability to be at branch for 8am Mon-Fri
- Relevant qualification in an Engineering field is preferrable but a keen interest in engineering will be considered.
- Keenness to learn and develop into the role.
This role is ideal for candidates with little to no experience in employment. We are offering a 3-month paid trial period so that both parties (us and you) can assess if a full-time position will be the right fit. During this time, we will work with you to come up with a plan for what the subsequent full-time position would look like, whether that be working through an apprenticeship scheme or an NVQ Level 3 in compressed air engineering, both of which are certified by the British Compressed Air Society.
